THE SHOP
Christie's Artisan Bread & Pastry Shop located in the historic dowtown district of Clinton is a true authentic, on-premise bakery.  The shop is 2,000 sq ft hosting 40 seats with 
Owner & Executive Chef Andrew Christie has had a long and illustrious career that started in 1985 where he worked in several restaurants in New Jersey and Virginia before attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1989.  He did his externship at the 5-diamond Boston Harbor Hotel in Boston, MA.  He graduated with honors and received an Associates Degree in Occupational Studies in 1991.    
RICHARD PEDICINI
Richard Pedicini, our Artisan Bread Baker, has been working in a bakery since the age of 13. He has been making artisan bread professionally for over 20 years, where traditional techniques rule his baking process. Rich is uncompromising when it comes to quality, ingredients, and creating inspired bread with authenticity and integrity. 
 
Rich was very fortunate to have some great mentors throughout his career.  He has worked steadfast among the cameras and crowds at Carlos Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey. From there to further develop his bread baking skills, he worked side by side with Master Baker Jim Lahey from the famed Sullivan Street Bakery in New York City. 
 
Rich’s early years were spent at the historical Mueller’s Bakery and Colonial Bakery in Bay Head, NJ, where he served as head baker and decorator to both. These old-fashioned style bakeries make everything by hand and from scratch. It was here that he honed his craft and learned many traditional baking techniques.
 
Rich most recently worked for Ferraro’s Restaurants, in Westfield, NJ producing the artisan bread for all three of their restaurants, which have received rave reviews from the NY Times and The Star Ledger.
 
One can sum up Rich with his first quote during the interview process; “Ultimately, creating beautiful bread is my passion!” We are fortunate to have him on the Christie’s Artisan Bread & Pastry Shop team.
