THE SHOP
Christie's Artisan Bread & Pastry Shop located in the historic dowtown district of Clinton is a true authentic, on-premise bakery.  The shop is 2,000 sq ft hosting 40 seats with 
Owner & Executive Chef Andrew Christie has had a long and illustrious career that started in 1985 where he worked in several restaurants in New Jersey and Virginia before attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1989.  He did his externship at the 5-diamond Boston Harbor Hotel in Boston, MA.  He graduated with honors and received an Associates Degree in Occupational Studies in 1991.    
LESLIE ANNE RICHARDS
Leslie Anne Richards, our Pastry Chef, has been in the Baking & Pastry industry for over 15 years.  Over that time she has amassed quite an impressive career.  She began by earning her Associate & Bachelor degrees in Baking and Pastry Arts Management from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY & Napa Valley, CA.  

After graduating, she took the Lead Pastry Cook job at the prestigious Five-Star “Short Hills Hilton” where she produced the desserts for their award winning restaurant.  She then moved to Boston to work at “Finale” as the Kitchen Manager and then “Pigalle” as the Pastry Chef, where she was responsible for writing and producing the desserts and bread.  

After a couple of years, she moved back to her home state of New Jersey and took the Pastry Chef’s job at “SoHo On George”.  She thrived for two and a half years, producing the desserts and bread, before moving to “Dea Dolce” in Hillsborough, where she created all of the baked goods for their pastry shop.  

Looking to get back to the hotel side of the business, where there’s more diversity than in restaurants, she was offered the Executive Pastry Chef position at the “Heldrich Plaza” in New Brunswick.  She really honed her skills producing high quality wedding, Bar Mitzvah and custom celebration cakes, as well as being responsible for all of the other sweets produced for the dining rooms’ three “high–volume” daily meal services, banquets and coffee breaks in the hotel.  After a very successful two and a half years at the Heldrich Plaza, she was recruited to work as Pastry Chef at the highly touted “Equus Tavern” in Bernardsville where she worked with Celebrity Executive Chef from Food Network's "Chopped" Paul Viggiano to produce amazing results.

Leslie’s passion, talent and commitment really show in everything she does.  We are fortunate to have her on the Christie’s Artisan Bread & Pastry Shop team.
